Pete Mitchell Memorial Qualifier Highlight Action Race Parts & Mohawk Plumbing Night At MIR

By: TIM BALTZ – HOGANSBURG, NY – Week 1 of racing action is in the books which saw defending track champions Tim Fuller and Johnathon Ferguson make a statement that they would be the drivers to beat as they collected opening day wins. Night 1 also saw Corbin Millar, Brad Reif and RJ Tressider take their first even wins.

The Crossroads Tobacco Sportsman division will be the highlight event of the night as a special 35 lap qualifying event will take place. The winner of that contest will be guaranteed to start at least 13th in the Pete Mitchell Memorial event on Thursday August 9th. Moise Page and Robert Delormier were within striking distance of the leader 1 week ago and plan to be right in the thick of the battle as well as Brianna Ladouceur who is fresh off 2 top 5 efforts at Mohawk and Brockville last weekend.

This coming Friday night The Green’s Performance Mod Lite division will have the week off giving Brad Reif another week to celebrate his first career win. The Twin Leaf Stores 358 Modifieds will be on hand along with the Novice Sportsman and Bandit divisions. Also on the card a bit of a throw back as the popular Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour will be on hand for the first of 2 events in 2018. They will return later in the year on August 17th along with the Quebec Lightning Sprints.

General admission gates open at 4:30pm with racing action getting underway at 7:30pm.
