Fireworks Set to Light Up The Sky This Coming Friday Night

By: TIM BALTZ – HOGANSBURG, NY – The Mohawk International Raceway in 2018 has been filled with fireworks both on and off the race track and this coming Friday night the fireworks will be on to celebrate America’s birthday.

Along with the big fireworks display on Friday July 6th the 2nd leg of the MIR 358 Modified Series will take center stage. This coming Friday’s series race marks the 30th event ever in series history dating back to the first one which was ran on May 28th 2009 with Carey Terrance coming home the winner. Since then 11 different driver have visited victory lane at least once in an MIR 358 Series race with 5 time track champion Billy Dunn atop the all time win list with 7.

In the first leg of the series back in May Chris Raabe dominated the event taking his 5th career win and his 2nd ever Memorial Cup after a great battle with Lee Ladouceur. Defending track and series champion Tim Fuller was also solid on the night having finished a close 3rd, Fuller has 2 career series wins with the first coming in the Independence Day 50 back in 2015. Lee Ladouceur has been close but has yet to take a win in the MIR 358 Series. Other top drivers who could spoil the party include Lance Willix who has 5 top 5 finishes in 6 events, Brian McDonald has been strong in 2018 with his only win in the series coming in the Independence Day 50 back in 2009. Matt Woodruff, Louie Jackson Jr. and Madison Mulder are also among the many drivers that could take a big victory this weekend.

St. Lawrence Radiology will be on hand as the title sponsor for the night which includes a full show of Crossroads Tobacco Sportsman, Green’s Performance Mod Lites, Novice Sportsman, Bandits and did we mention there will be fireworks too?
