HOGANSBURG, NY – On Friday evening MIR presented a 4 program show which welcomed two new faces to Victory Lane. The racing surface was well prepared as a midweek storm gave the Track Prep crew a lot of work to complete. However a beautiful sky would welcome fans and drivers alike when it was time to race.
The first feature of the evening would see the Bandits for their 12 lap feature. Multi time winner Frances White would start from the pole along side Josh Verne Jr.. White tried to gain an advantage over Verne Jr, however Verne Jr kept the hammer down and maintained pace throughout. By Lap 2, Verne Jr would take the lead and kept White at bay to pick up his first career win.
The Mod Lites would be up next for a 15 lap affair. Harley Brown and Nick Mallette would start up front. Nick Mallette would lead the first 8 laps before 3 car wreck on Lap 9. Nick Mallette would go airborne over the Turn 3 wall and land behind the pit wall entrance. Tristand Dibble and Steven Shatraw were also involved. At the time of this release all drivers were reported to be alert and were taken to a nearby Hospital for further evaluation. On the Lap 9 restart, Brown and Scott Sharpe would set sail for the remaining six laps. On Lap 14, Sharpe would take the high side coming off of Turn 2 taking the lead away from Brown. Sharpe would hang on to first place to pick up the win.
The CrossRoads Tobacco Sportsman would be up next for their 25 lap feature. Dustin Bradley would start on the pole and lead the first 9 laps. However by Lap 10 Nick Heywood would wrestle the lead away. After opening a half track lead, the yellow flag would come out on Lap 22 negating Heywood’s advantage.
